It’s inventory time. It took me a couple weeks to get to it. I had held off ordering tools until the empennage kit arrived. Once the kit arrived, I started scrambling to settle on which tools I needed to build the empennage. It took me some time researching the various RV Tool Kit providers. I ended up going with Cleaveland Tools.
With the tools ordered, I turned my attention to the boxes of empennage sitting in my garage. My garage was not quite ready for a build project. It’s still full of bicycles and lawn equipment. Fortunately, we had a couple of birthday parties, which brought a windfall of folding tables. With some reshuffling and the help of my neighbor and friend, Joe, we got the empennage boxes unpacked. I read off the items from the packing list and Joe confirmed that the parts were included in the kit. I had anticipated a much more tedious process, but the inventory was finished within an hour. Nothing was missing and there was only on damaged part: one of the fiberglass end caps for the horizontal stabilizer had a crack. I shot an email off to Vans Aircraft and within a few days, a flawless replacement part arrived.
